OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

The pre-school unit was set up many years ago with the aim of providing somewhere within the village of Ermington for parents/carers with young children to get together.

We currently have a teacher:pupil ratio of 1:5 allowing the children te receive plenty of individual attention.

OUR AIMS ARE:

To serve the local community by providing a pre-school unit.

To involve parents/carers and make them feel comfortable within the pre-school unit and for them to have the opportunity to associate with other parents/carers.

To provide stimulating learning opportunities that encompass the EARLY LEARNING GOALS:
Personal, social and emotional development.
Communication, language and literacy.
Mathematical development.
Knowledge and under-standing of the world.
Physical development.
Creative development.

Promote the desirable outcomes for pre-school education.

To provide a happy, stable, safe and welcoming environment for the children.

To promote self esteem which will build confidence in the children, aiding in the transition to full time primary education.

We met the minimum quality and standards laid down by the Government in July 2003 by receiving a Very Good OFSTED Report. In order to acheive higher standards and continue to improve for the benefit of parents and children, we are currently working hard towards Accreditation.
